The average Australian walks around 2,500-3,000 steps per day. A good target is 10,000 steps a day, and one of the best ways to achieve that target is to increase your daily average steps each week until you reach it. In other words, if you're currently walking 3,000 steps a day, try to increase that by 3,500 or 4,000 steps the following week. 10,000 steps a day is recommended by the National Heart Foundation. The Omron HJ-109 is a great motivator to help you increase the number of steps you complete by recording the number of steps you complete, and giving that motivation to beat last weeks achievement.
